In our group we have created a risk assessment for our digipak shoot. In this we included the timings which we will be shooting where we will be shooting and who will be involved. A risk assessment is essential to complete before doing a shoot as this identifies potential hazards.
As we will be out in school time we will need to ensure each person in our group has had parent permission to go off site and shoot.
In our group we have created a production meeting agenda for our digipak shoot. In this we have included the shot that we want to use. A production agenda helps to keep the shoot organised and in line, as this also lets each person in the group know what they will be doing and helping with.

In this task, we created a paper copy mock up of our first ideas for our digipak. We included descriptions around the outside and what design would be on each of the covers and the inside pages. After completing our paper mock- up we used Microsoft co- pilot which is an AI website to transform our paper ideas into an AI design. We used this website and described what we wanted each page to look like and the colour palette we were looking for and it created an image for us, from this we realised, exact words had to be used so to get these results it took multiple attempts.
We made sure to keep the theme of the colour palette consistent amongst the digipak so it had all linked together.
We have included many conventional features of a digpak and as well as doing this we made sure to reflect on our mission statement –
‘Acting as this generations older sister, Cora Ray is the latest hit. Mixing soul, r&b and jazz to create fresh, joyful, uplifting beats which encourage young girls and lighten their spirits. Her newest album ‘Focus’ features her biggest hit ‘Girl put your records on’ and takes her fans on an emotional roller coaster, each track teaching them something new. ‘
W have decoded the mission statement and from this we have included, the flowers and light pastel colours to represent joy and growth which links into the mission statement ‘fresh, joyful, uplifting beats’. As well the image of the vinyl on the front cover also links into the lyrics of her newest hit ‘ Girl put your records on’.
When doing the next draft of our digipak, we are going to make some adjustments so the genre can be seen from far away as from looking at the same genre digipaks. Its noticed that most front covers include the star image, aswell by doing this it will attract the target audience.

By doing this task I was able to explore the key technical conventions for a digipak cover, and what is important to include on a digipak. I will be able to look back on this when creating my own to make sure I include key technical conventions.
As part of exploring the key technical conventions for a digipak cover, I created a slideshow in which I annotated and highlighted key technical conventions of an artist’s digipak. I looked into the colour palette used on the front cover and back cover and from this i found that there was a consistent colour palette used across the whole digipak which used specific colours each to convey meaning and the vintage style. The simplistic front cover reflects a minimalist aesthetic and allows the audience to focus on the key emotions like facial expressions. When I create my digipak I will take these ideas and make sure that I have a consistent colour palette across it so it all ties in together and compliments each other.
By looking at an artist’s digipak, the genre is able to be seen from the front cover which is what I am aiming to achieve when making my digipak for our group media video. The star image is also used on the front cover, this shows the brand identity and reinforces the personal brand. By including the star image on the front cover this attracts the target audience and encourages them to buy the product as well this connotes fame and desirability as the artists is marketed as the ‘star’.
